Can you believe school has been in session for a week now, here on Mercer Island? With the flurry of paper work coming home with your student(s), it’s easy to misplace needed information. Here’s a handy, one-stop place to reference some of the important beginning-of-the-year details for Mercer Island School District

One of the big changes for the 2012-2013 year is the increase in school lunch pricing. This is due to new requirements for school lunches issued by the USDA. Students are required to select at least a 1/2 cup serving of fruits or vegetable with their lunches. If they choose to not do that, the students will need to pay ala cart pricing for each of the food items they select instead of the meal pricing. The price for elementary meal is now $3.50, and the middle school meal rose to $3.75. High schoolers will have ala carte pricing.

Did you misplace that school supply list? Don’t fret– here are the list pages, by school:

Lakeridge Elementary

Island Park Elementary

West Mercer conducted a bulk supply order at the end of the school year last May. If you are new to the school, and need some direction on what supplies are needed for your student, inquire with your student’s teacher.
